Our analysis falls under three categories: Rowlingisms, Comparative Syntax, and Network Analysis. We analyze the differences between translations of Rowling-created terms into French, Russian, and Swedish from the original English, and explore why some of the translation changes might have occurred. Syntax trees for select sentences are available in all three translation languages so that they can be compared side-by-side for differences in structure. Network analysis examines the usage of formal and informal registers between characters in the first chapter of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.
